Rafting Balsa River Class II & III Rapids

6 Hours

Overview

Enjoy the best rafting down the Balsa River with this adventure! This activity is a fun combination of whitewater thrills and areas where the water is calm enough to jump in and go for a swim.

Wildlife abounds in this section of the Balsa, so keep an eye out for sloths, iguanas, howler monkeys and a vast array of tropical birds. However, this trip is not all about relaxation. The rolling, tumbling Class II-III rapids will be enough to bring laughter and excitement to the whole family. The trip will be guided by our professional and safe guides that could even make a mud puddle fun.

Upon arrival at the river we will gear you up with a life jacket, helmet and paddle and then brief you with a full safety orientation talk. Then it will be time to take off down the rapids!

As with every trip, there will be one stop for locally grown, organic fruits and another stop for an authentic Costa Rican organic lunch. You’ll also learn about the growing, harvesting and production of chocolate, medicinal plants, fruits and sugar cane.

Finally, as you learn about sugar cane in Costa Rica, your guide will help you extract juice from the cane in a traditional fashion, and you’ll get to enjoy a glass of pure sugar cane juice. A sweet ending to a sweet tour!
